Brief: One of the things that Byron does well is to recognise and reward its people. And they are always looking for new, quirky ways to do this. We proposed a Byron internal awards party, cheekily named the BEEFTA Awards (a meaty pun on the BAFTAs), with categories covering all manner of behaviours and roles. There would be a build-up to the ceremony that would encourage a healthy competition between employees, all vying to win the awards and accompanying prizes. The ceremony itself would be carried out in true Byron style – idiosyncratic, cool, boutique and anything but stuffy and corporate.
The BEEFTAs were a roaring success. Over 400 Byron team members and managers from across the UK were in attendance at the party at Islington’s fittingly quirky Model Market. And the results have been phenomenal. Since we began working with Byron on engagement projects, staff turnover has decreased from 103% to 73% and staff engagement is up by 4%.
